LEMONT, Ill. (May 20, 2026) — Clearwave Fiber marked its investment in Lemont with a ribbon cutting ceremony and technology grant presentation at Peoples Bank, celebrating the expansion of high-speed Fiber Internet and its impact on the local community.

The event brought together community leaders, business partners and students for an afternoon focused on connectivity, innovation, and future-ready infrastructure. Attendees experienced live demonstrations from the Lemont High School Robotics Team and heard remarks highlighting the role of Fiber connectivity in powering education, business and economic growth.

John Robertson, vice president of commercial sales at Clearwave Fiber, emphasized the long-term importance of Fiber technology and the company’s commitment to the region.

“Fiber is built for how we live and work today, and for decades to come,” said Robertson. “From remote work and virtual learning to robotics, streaming and smart homes, reliable, high-capacity connectivity is essential. We’re proud to be investing in Lemont and across Chicagoland to deliver the infrastructure that supports families, businesses and future innovation.”

Robertson also noted that Clearwave Fiber has begun building its network in the Chicago suburbs, with construction continuing through 2026 and into 2027, and services becoming available to residents and businesses as neighborhoods are completed.

As part of the program, Clearwave Fiber presented a technology grant to the Lemont High School Robotics Team, recognizing the program’s role in preparing students for careers in engineering, technology and advanced manufacturing. The grant will support hands-on learning opportunities, helping students design, build and compete using cutting-edge tools and platforms.

“Expanding opportunity through connectivity is at the heart of what we do,” Robertson added. “These students represent the innovation our mission is built around, and we’re honored to support their continued success.”

Scott Duensing, Career and Technical Education Chair at Lemont High School and Robotics Team mentor, accepted the grant on behalf of the program.

“We’re incredibly grateful for Clearwave Fiber’s support,” said Duensing. “Reliable, high-speed Internet is critical for today’s students – whether they’re coding, collaborating or competing – and this investment helps ensure our students have the resources they need to succeed.”

Tamara Esposito, VP and Banking Center Manager at Peoples Bank, welcomed attendees and underscored the importance of partnerships that strengthen both the local business community and educational initiatives.
